Harambee parade in Homewood at the end of Parade

First this video was shot live on twitter and was downloaded from the periscope .com cause they are getting rid of periscope which was the live streaming .com Twitter was using. When the live video was shot the quality was good when downloading live streams there is always the risk of something that goes wrong!

I shot his parade in 2017 in Homewood to document the parade as I photographed the festival. This was the ending of the parade coming back on to Kelly street where it started from.  This was an annual event in Homewood till 2020 and the corona virus hopefully when it passes then this and many other events will start up again!

Now about Harambee.

"The Harambee Ujima Black Arts and Culture Association is a cultural collaboration that advocates and advances the Black Arts Movement in order to preserve all forms of Black Art in the greater Pittsburgh region. “Harambee” is a Kenyan word meaning “together” and “Ujima” is the Kwanzaa principle meaning “collective work and responsibility.” Together, Harambee Ujima refers to the east African self-help tradition of building and maintaining communities."
