May 2020 Protest against County Jail to release Inmates Due to Pandemic
Protest call for freeing inmates to be released due to the pandemic from the Allegheny County Jail (ACJ). Protesters drove around the Allegheny County Court House in their cars with signs on the cars. Some signs read "flatten the curve inside the ACJ", "Arrests are death sentences", "Free Them All" , "Everybody's got a right to live".
Fawn Walker-Montgomery, Take Action Mon Valley executive director and co-founder says, "the inmates and the staff in there, we need to make sure they can social distance in there".

At the beginning of the Pandemic in March 1, 2020 there were 2,224 inmates inside the ACJ at March 31, 2020 there were 1,564 inmates housed inside the jail. It is unclear how many inmates were let out of the ACJ to date due to the Corona Virus pandemic.
